Great New Opportunity for Care Local Volunteers and Friends

Care Local is partnering with National College of Ireland to offer a free FETAC accredited 6 course focusing on older people’s issues and care (valued at €700).

In return for this valuable education opportunity, participants are asked to dedicate just one hour per week befriending an older person living in the Docklands area.

The course will take place during Autumn 2010 and will consist of one three-hour class each week for eight weeks. Befriending services will continue for 18 months.

First priority for this training will be given to Care Local volunteers.

We hope you get involved in this valuable opportunity to learn and help the community!

The Community Foundation of Ireland

A special thank you to the Community Foundation. Through their generosity, Care Local and our community collaborators in the Stoneybatter area, developed an Older Men’s Committee, focusing on the needs of older, isolated men. The Older Men’s Drop-in Centre resulted from the input and leadership of these men.
